TechTeach Distance is looking for hard-working students who will become even harder-working, dedicated teachers. TechTeach seeks candidates who are willing to work hard to realize their dream of becoming an educator and who have completed an Associate of Arts in Teaching (AAT) from a local community college. TechTeach’s partnerships with school districts in the DFW area allow teacher candidates to complete the whole program, including student teaching, in the community while taking upper-division coursework online through Texas Tech University and finish the program in one year.
Approximately 90% of students receive some form of financial aid. The average cost of attendance is $18,000 and the average starting salary for a teacher in the DFW Metroplex is $53,000 annually. Additional signing bonuses and certification stipends can increase starting salary to $60,000. Apply by December 1st of each year to be considered for all possible scholarship opportunities.
