Why I Teach
I took interest in helping others succeed from a young age when I began mentoring kids in his community. I feel an obligation to provide a wealth of knowledge and experience that can help spark student interest in future careers, and I believe that connecting with students to establish a trusting relationship is an important part of being an educator.
“When my students express that I was a huge part of their achievement, that’s what I’m most proud of.”
I received my teaching certification at Quality ACT in Irving and pursued a Master's in Education Leadership with a Principal Certification from Dallas Baptist University. I constantly seek professional development at the local, state, and national level.
I ultimately think that teaching requires staying up to date on education policy, constantly looking for ways to improve instructional strategies, developing great leadership skill, and strengthening parent and community member relationships. I also believe that building a sense of community in the classroom is key to getting all students to participate and showcase their abilities. I firmly believe that no child should ever fall through the cracks.
