Dedicated to empowering Latinas pursuing a higher education, the Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas offers networking opportunities centered in professional development. Members of HWNT receive mentorship from leaders in the community, invites to fun and productive social events and the chance to become a mentor to younger Latinas.
The Educator Collective in DFW nurtures educators from different stages in their teaching journey — from early-career educators to tenure teachers. Providing programming focused on community, leadership, and wellbeing, the TEC staff hosts “Sip & Learn Workshops” at local Dallas restaurants and coffee shops where educators can connect with expert speakers and learn about high-need programs and policies.
Education starts in the classroom, but it doesn’t have to end there. The Association of Hispanic School Administration of Dallas preserves the cultural well-being of its Hispanic administrators and educators.
With over 350 members and counting, the City Teaching Alliance Dallas has created a safe space for educators in nearly 100 schools across Dallas. The Alliance is dedicated to serving marginalized communities and diversifying the teaching force. Latino teachers receive coaching and support from the organization, setting them up for long-term success in the classroom.
TACHE actively helps Mexican Americans gain the tools and resources necessary to increase their chances of getting jobs that align with their career path. TACHE focuses on educational advocacy, networking opportunities, recruiting promising professionals and preserving Chicano history and culture in professional spaces.
Latinos for Education is a network for education leaders who aspire to uplift Latino youth by creating a more inclusive classroom setting. Latinos for Education provide professional development and employment opportunities within education.
The Maestro Program, established in the College of Education at Texas Christian University, strives to diversify Texan schools by offering numerous networking, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to future Latinx male educators as they earn their teaching credentials.
The program aims to increase the retention rate for Latinx male teachers in Texas and introduce students to more positive role models in their classrooms.
