Program Info

240 Certification is an educator preparation program that gets you classroom-ready and confident in your teaching abilities. It typically takes only a few months to complete the program's first phase, and then you can be eligible to begin working as a full-time, paid teacher at a district of your choice while you finish the additional requirements. You can complete the entire program in approximately 12-18 months.

The alternative certification program includes:

  • Online, self-paced coursework and training
  • 50-hours of hands-on classroom experiences
  • 1-on-1 mentorship 
  • Comprehensive study resources
  • A capstone field experience, consisting of either an unpaid student teaching placement of at least 14 weeks or a full-year paid internship, serving as a teacher of record in your own classroom.
