Why I Teach
I was in middle school when I knew that I wanted to be a teacher. My mom was a calculus teacher in Richardson ISD and when I saw her passion for teaching, I wanted to be like her. I knew early on that I enjoyed school, particularly math, so it seemed natural to go into the teaching profession.
“I never considered doing anything else. I always enjoyed math and wanted to teach others about it. I went into college knowing exactly what I wanted to do.”
I graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Mathematics and minor in Education and became certified through the Aggie Teach Program. I believe that patience, compassion, organization and dedication are the characteristics that make a great teacher.
